Nicci Morelli

I didn’t use my voice for ten years.

I didn’t sing. Definitely didn’t worship. Didn’t speak up.

My childhood and young adulthood were saturated with church and in the same building where I discovered my passion and calling for worship leadership is where I picked up cues that maybe this wasn’t a place I belonged.

I, who didn’t fit the Ohio Valley baptist mold. Who then didn’t fit the Liberty music program mold (I failed all my music classes).

Who decided that a life with God—especially one focused on creativity—wasn’t where I felt wanted.

For ten years I wandered and kept my voice to myself. By the time I met my now-husband and Christ in all His love drew my heart back to Him and His People, I was certain that I was too far gone for worship, too wild for leadership.

I would come back, Lord, but I would not sing. Could not. But God. But God!

As I regained my faith, I regained my capacity for my creative calling. As the Lord proved Himself faithful in my life and my heart, I was compelled to worship Him faithfully again.

Christ calls me in my creativity. I meet Him and serve Him there.

Worship has led to a desire to know God more—that’s what happens when you fully lean into what you know God has crafted you uniquely to do.

There’s a place for you and your story in worship, no matter what you’ve done. Leadership in worship isn’t barred from you because of what you’ve done.

You’re Held as a leader and a creative when you’re walking with God in what He has for you.

It’s time to use your story, grow in your calling, and unleash your holy creativity into the Church for His glory and the good of the ones you love.
